Personal Reflection:
SimpliMeta’s mission is to be a partner for technology advisors who have customers facing a rapid evolution of
technology, security, and compliance. The international company strives to maximize the value of technology for their customers and protect their data. SimpliMeta is a technology services enabler, which allows them to support advisors without competing.
During this internship, I created marketing campaigns, content, LinkedIn posts, one-pagers, and more. I developed
their presence in the AppDirect marketplace. I was empowered to plan future physical events and webinars. I had direct access to senior leadership and was able to represent SimpliMeta in meetings with suppliers, partners, and customers. Since the organization is in a rapid growth phase, they wanted to explore the benefits of marketing, so I had the only marketing position in the organization. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to get the most experience out of this internship. I learned a lot about how marketing, business, and life in general works in the real world. Plus, how communication is crucial to every aspect of the workplace. There was a lot of problem solving and teamwork that helped me to grow and excel in this role.
I was able to develop many relationships in the IT world through my co-workers and other companies with whom I
worked. From the beginning they called me a marketing specialist instead of an intern and treated me like I was one of the team. I believed that pushed me to get into the marketing specialist role/mindset and try to excel past their expectations. Of all my classes, Communication Campaigns COMM 4145 prepared me the most for this internship. This class helped me to know how campaigns work and how detailed it needs to be to function. I learned how to research, create timelines, work with a team, and that helped me throughout this internship.
Email Drip Campaign:
I learned the most during the planning
of this email drip campaign because I was able to witness each step of the process. This helped me learn a lot about the business world from event planning and website design to talking to real customers. Although during my internship I will not see the finished product in many cases, here is the timeline and business proposal I made. We also made videos based off of the ideas I had for each week's email. Each email sent the viewer to a landing page with a new video and a link to register for the webinar.
One Pagers:

They would give me the information necessary and then I would create, write, and design these to showcase products for customers and partners. Below are examples.
The New Marketplace:
We rebranded from being MetaData to SimpliMeta, and our AppDirect marketplace still had all the old information. I went to the marketplace instance and made note of everything that needed to be changed or added and then worked with AppDirect to make those changes. This is the finished result.

LinkedIn:
While working at SimpliMeta, I managed their LinkedIn from June to the beginning of August. Below is how their impressions increased. Before I joined in June there were little to no spikes or activity. I have had a large influence on their LinkedIn by posting more frequently and doing research on when to post, tagging people, and how to get more interactions in general. During my time working at SimpliMeta, there was a 755.4% increase in impressions.

LinkedIn Posts:
There are many posts I created on
LinkedIn, but here are some of my favorites. Below there is a button you can click if you would like to see each post with more detail.
